What is a Total Solar Eclipse?

A Total Solar Eclipse happens when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the base of the sun. Therefore, the sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. This moment of total darkness or Totality is a brief, rare, and spectacular sight that most of us may experience only once or twice in a lifetime. Also depending on the viewing conditions, you may glimpse the sun’s corona and other phenomena.
